Apr 1, 2007 - You will find that I use padek in my long bean noodle salad that is posted on my web site. I don't like to mix 'ga bee' (shrimp paste) and 'padek' together in my Lao salads.

Sep 4, 2007 - pa dek is raw fish and salt and left to covered for days to cure. I usually purchase pa dek. One day, I'll video my dad making it.

May 31, 2009 - I love this salad! I was taught by a Hmong friend how to make it....but using much, much more chilies in the nam prik wan! :-D She also uses kapi (not padek), but adds one clove of garlic. Very nice video.
